ABORTION

It'd be great if nobody got an abortion, but the issues that would arise from banning it would ultimately be worse. For one, a ban won't work- we tried that with alcohol back in the 1920's, which benefitted only organized crime. Also, the earth's population is pushing 8 billion now, and we can't even feed half of them. What happens when we run out of farmland to feed them or timber to house them? We're already starting to run out of oil. And are all those people who gripe about abortion willing to adopt all the babies who'd otherwise be aborted? To feed them, house them, clothe them, provide healthcare, schooling, etc?

For me, even with all the arguments for supporting abortion, in the end, the earth already has too many people and getting rid of unborn children, who are basically a clump of cells, and will probably end up growing up in crappy conditions, is hardly horrible.

My crazy girlfriend who I broke up with yesterday claims I got her pregnant back in January and had an abortion without telling me about it. I don't really believe her because the pregnancy thing is the oldest trick in the book, she's a pathological liar, and also she's crazy. But still part of me wonders if I do have an aborted illegitimate child. CRAZY SHIT, I ASSURE YOU. Also she was supposed to be on birth control anyway.

I'm for abortion.

I think if you've merely had sex without the contraceptive pill or condom, and then not had the morning after pill, then you are fucking stupid. But if you want an abortion, fine.

And, guys, the contraceptive pill does fail. There's a 2/100 people a year chance you'll get pregnant. So you might take all the necessary steps, and still end up pregnant. Not everyone having abortions have been raped or careless.

I don't agree with having abortions in the latter stages of pregnancy, when the foetus is becoming defined. It's becoming more human.

But I don't think any woman really wants an abortion. It hurts (apparently, anyway) and who the fuck wants a doctor sticking a tube up your vag (or penis then, for those of you without that part of the anatomy).

My problem with abortions is the emotional side-effects. I really don't think any man could understand the havoc it can and does wreck upon women. Motherly instinct, or whatever they call it. I know a few people who have had abortions. A lot of them suffer from emotional problems (depression, etc) because of it. The majority of them regret it. Nearly all would advise against someone else having an abortion.

But if, when I was younger, I became pregnant, I would still have had an abortion. (Overlooking my parents killing me in the meantime - they're pro-choice for everyone except their daughter)

Im against abortions. I think its wrong to kill a unborn child without its consent. The baby had rights the second it kicked the shit out of the mothers insides.
